Where to buy aloe vera and how to pick the best one

Table of contents

Many people want to buy aloe vera that is safe and good quality, especially during hot seasons when demand increases. However, not everyone knows how to choose the right aloe vera. That’s why this article shares tips on where to buy aloe vera and how to choose good, fresh ones.

1. Consumer Demand for Aloe Vera

The demand for aloe vera is growing steadily. It’s not just fresh aloe that’s popular, processed products like ready-to-use aloe pieces and aloe drinks are also getting a lot of attention.

The growing interest in healthy drinks for better wellbeing has also boosted the aloe vera industry in recent years. This is great news for both aloe farmers and companies making aloe products.

Drinks and dishes with aloe vera provide essential nutrients for your body. Vitamins like A, B, and E, along with minerals in aloe, can help boost your immunity and overall well-being. Moreover, aloe is great for cooling down and detoxing your body.

Aloe vera is also easy to grow, with a quick harvest and high yield. That’s why in Ninh Thuan (now part of Khanh Hoa), many farmers have switched to growing aloe to supply factories that make aloe drinks and food products.

Seeing the growing demand for aloe vera, GC Food decided to invest in its own aloe farms, which now cover over 200 hectares in Ninh Thuan. This area is cared for with modern farming methods, producing around 550 tons per hectare each year - enough to supply their factory. On top of that, GC Food built a modern, international-standard factory to produce aloe vera. Thanks to all these efforts, GC Food has become one of the biggest aloe vera producers and exporters in Vietnam.

2. Tips on Choosing High-Quality Aloe Vera

When picking fresh aloe vera, keep these 3 things in mind:

  • Aloe Vera Size: Choose leaves that are medium-sized, even, thick, and juicy so you can get plenty of gel. Thin, long leaves with a smaller width are also a good choice, because really large leaves can sometimes contain extra growth chemicals, which aren’t great for your health.

  • Color: Fresh aloe vera should be a deep green, with small white spots along the leaves. You can also check the cut at the base. If it’s still wet and oozing sap, it’s freshly harvested. If there’s no sap and the cut looks dry, the aloe has been sitting for a while and isn’t as good.

  • Aloe Variety: Indian aloe may look bright and appealing, but it doesn’t have much nutrition, so it’s best to avoid using it.

3. Where to Buy Aloe Vera

A lot of people wonder where to buy aloe vera when they want to use it. For fresh aloe, you can easily find it at supermarkets or traditional markets.

For processed aloe vera, you can check supermarkets, shopping centers, food store chains, or even local grocery shops. These places usually have a wide variety, from fresh and packaged aloe to aloe drinks.
